Mapping Cyberspace

This is a very straightforward chapter. Lots of information. But the key point that Rob Kitchin brings up is how cyberspace refers to the conceptual space within the Information and communication technologies. That is key to our understanding of space and our definition of place.

p. 1 - At present, cyberspace does not consist of one homogenous space; it is a myriad of rapidly expanding cyberspaces, each providing a different form of digital interaction and communication.

Yes, so if we use any of them in our projects, how do we measure how they affect the space, place, experience or location of the project. In what way is this a microcosm of urban life as it is led on a daily basis.

This is a crucial chapter, it brings together many themes we have discussed in class. I will elaborate more at another time.
